Cambodia participated in a series of ASEAN economic consultations held in Manila, the Philippines, on August 9–10, aimed at advancing regional trade integration and reinforcing economic partnerships with key trading partners.

The Cambodian delegation was led by Long Kemvichet, Director-General of the General Directorate of International Trade at the Ministry of Commerce and Cambodia's lead for the ASEAN Senior Economic Officials Meeting (SEOM).

According to a statement from the Ministry of Commerce, the consultations included the 41st SEOM-India Consultation, the 7th SEOM-UK Consultation, the 45th SEOM-CER Consultation, the 43rd ASEAN Plus Three Consultation, the 15th SEOM-EAS Consultation, and the 18th SEOM-Russia Consultation.

The meetings, held under the Philippines' 2026 ASEAN chairmanship, reviewed progress on key economic integration agendas, including the implementation of existing ASEAN free trade agreements with partner countries and regional groupings.

Officials also discussed the implementation of current economic work programmes, the development of new initiatives, and preparations for Priority Economic Deliverables to be considered at the ASEAN Economic Ministers' consultations with dialogue partners in September.

For Cambodia, these discussions are significant as ASEAN's trade and economic arrangements help shape the region's market-access framework and opportunities for businesses operating across regional supply chains.
