Generation Lab, a biotechnology startup, has announced the development of a new injectable treatment, dubbed "1 Generation," which the company claims can neutralize the effects of aging within the human body. The treatment consists of a combination of two existing, yet undisclosed, drugs. According to company documentation, the therapy is designed to block the systemic spread of aging through the bloodstream and stimulate the body's natural repair mechanisms.
The company’s scientific founder, Irina Conboy—a former University of California, Berkeley researcher known for her work on parabiosis and blood plasma exchange—claims the treatment mimics the rejuvenating effects observed in experiments where old and young circulatory systems were linked. Conboy reports that she and a small group of insiders, including CEO Alina Su, have been using the injections and experiencing increased energy and improved physical well-being. The company has shared anecdotal reports from participants citing benefits such as improved vision, increased physical stamina, and enhanced mental clarity.
Despite the claims, the company has faced scrutiny for its marketing approach and lack of transparency regarding the drug's composition. Generation Lab has begun offering the treatment to a private cohort of individuals under the supervision of physicians, including Matt Cook of BioReset Medical. While the company plans to launch a larger, free clinical trial, critics have raised concerns about the lack of peer-reviewed evidence and the involvement of practitioners associated with alternative medicine.
CEO Alina Su stated that the identities of the two drugs are being kept confidential to prevent imitation while the company pursues an FDA process that could grant them a period of exclusivity for the new application of these existing medications. As the company seeks to build momentum, it has scheduled an invite-only event featuring prominent figures in the scientific and technology sectors to discuss the potential of their longevity therapeutics.
