Phnom Penh's Koh Pich Exhibition and Convention Centre is hosting a four-day series of international industrial exhibitions, which opened on August 13, featuring more than 200 local and international exhibitors. The event highlights advanced machinery, automation, and innovative manufacturing solutions.
The exhibitions include the 10th Cambodia International Machinery Industry Fair (CIMIF 2026), the Cambodia International Textile & Garment Industry Fair (CTG 2026), and the Cambodia International Plastics, Rubber, Printing & Packaging Industry Fair 2026. Running until August 16, the events aim to promote technology transfer, business partnerships, and investment opportunities.
At the opening ceremony, Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation Minister Hem Vanndy urged Cambodian enterprises to adopt advanced technologies to enhance productivity, product quality, and competitiveness. He emphasized that artificial intelligence, automation, robotics, and smart manufacturing are key determinants of national competitiveness, and Cambodia must not stay outside this transformation.
As of the end of July 2026, Cambodia had 3,357 registered factories employing over 1.35 million workers, more than 70% of whom are women. Total factory investment reached approximately $28.08 billion, a 29% increase compared to the same period in 2025. Industrial production in the first half of 2026 was valued at over $9.8 billion, including about $7.3 billion in exports.
Minister Vanndy noted that Cambodia is diversifying beyond its traditional industrial base, expanding into automotive parts, food processing, electronics, chemicals, and furniture. He stressed that building a competitive and resilient industrial base requires collaboration among the government, private sector, investors, research institutions, and development partners.
The exhibitions are organized by Yorkers Trade & Marketing Service Co., Ltd., in partnership with the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation, the Ministry of Commerce, the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, TAFTAC, and other entities. They provide a platform for showcasing emerging technologies and supporting the modernization of Cambodia's manufacturing sector.
