Representatives from the Cambodia Oknha Association (COA) and various Indian firms gathered in Phnom Penh on July 30 for an IT Business Matching event. The meeting aimed to foster stronger economic ties, specifically focusing on the digital economy and information technology sectors.
Led by COA Vice-President Hann Khieng, the Cambodian delegation engaged with Indian counterparts to identify potential collaborative opportunities. The event was coordinated by the Embassy of India in Cambodia alongside the Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC), which serves as India’s primary trade body for telecommunications and software services.
Indian Ambassador to Cambodia Bawitlung Vanlalvawna highlighted the importance of bilateral cooperation in areas such as artificial intelligence, software development, and digital innovation. According to the Ambassador, these partnerships are essential for supporting Cambodia’s ongoing digital transformation and fostering sustainable economic growth through technology transfer and workforce development.
The COA stated that its involvement in the forum underscores a broader strategy to connect local enterprises with international markets. By facilitating these discussions, the association intends to promote investment and enhance the technical capabilities of the Cambodian business landscape.
