Cambodia is bracing for unsettled weather conditions between July 23 and July 25, 2026, as low-pressure systems over the Bay of Bengal, the Andaman Sea, the South China Sea, and the Mekong River Basin influence the southwest monsoon.
The plains region, including Phnom Penh and several surrounding provinces such as Battambang, Siem Reap, and Kandal, can expect temperatures ranging from 25°C to 36°C. Forecasters anticipate rain, thunderstorms, and gusts across 40% of this area, accompanied by winds blowing from the southwest and northwest at 3 meters per second.
In the plateau and mountainous regions, including areas like Ratanakiri, Mondulkiri, and the Cardamom Mountains, rain and thunderstorms are expected to cover 50% of the territory. Temperatures in these areas will fluctuate between 24°C and 35°C, with winds reaching speeds of 4 meters per second.
Coastal provinces, such as Sihanoukville, Kampot, and Koh Kong, are also facing a 50% chance of rain and thunderstorms. Coastal temperatures are forecast to range from 25°C to 35°C, with sea wave heights projected to reach between 0.50 and 1.50 meters.
