The Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) is advancing its digital transformation efforts by expanding a centralized management system designed to handle critical engineering information. The Technical Document Management System (TDMS) serves as a digital repository, replacing traditional record-keeping methods to improve how the ministry stores, retrieves, and shares project-related documentation.

Heang Vutha, Director-General of the General Department of Technical Affairs, highlighted the importance of treating technical data as a core institutional asset. During a recent workshop, he urged ministry staff to adopt the platform into their routine operations to support data-driven decision-making and enhance operational efficiency across road infrastructure projects.

The initiative, which first launched in October 2023, is now being extended to various affiliated departments. By providing secure, online access to engineering records, the ministry aims to foster better collaboration among technical teams and establish standardized governance. Officials are currently undergoing training to ensure the system is utilized effectively, supporting the government's broader strategy to digitize public infrastructure management and improve transparency within the transport sector.
