NASA is now accepting accreditation requests from members of the press wishing to cover the launch of the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope. The mission is currently scheduled to lift off no earlier than 7:20 a.m. EDT on Sunday, August 30, aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket. The launch will take place at Launch Complex 39A, located at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
Named in honor of the agency's first chief astronomer, the observatory is designed to capture expansive, high-resolution imagery of the cosmos, providing new insights into the nature of the universe.
Deadlines for media registration vary based on citizenship and organizational affiliation. International media representatives who are not U.S. citizens must submit their applications by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, July 26. U.S. citizens and those representing international media organizations must apply by 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, July 30.
Applications must be submitted through the official NASA media accreditation portal. Further details regarding the agency's media policies, as well as contact information for logistical inquiries, are available through the Kennedy Space Center press office.
