NASA will host a pair of news conferences on Monday, August 3, at the Johnson Space Center in Houston to provide updates on the upcoming SpaceX Crew-13 mission. The briefings will be broadcast live, offering insights into the mission's objectives and the preparations of the four-person crew.
The first session, beginning at 12 p.m. EDT, will feature mission leadership, including representatives from NASA, the Canadian Space Agency (CSA), and SpaceX. This will be followed at 2 p.m. EDT by a second conference where the crew members will discuss their training and readiness for the flight. This event marks the final media opportunity for the team before they relocate to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida for launch.
The Crew-13 mission is slated to launch no earlier than mid-September aboard a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft atop a Falcon 9 rocket. The flight will depart from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
The mission crew includes:
- Jessica Watkins (NASA): Serving as commander, Watkins is a geologist and veteran of the SpaceX Crew-4 mission. She will become the first NASA astronaut to fly on a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft twice.
- Luke Delaney (NASA): A former naval aviator and test pilot, Delaney will be making his first trip to space.
- Joshua Kutryk (CSA): A former fighter pilot and experimental test pilot, this mission marks Kutryk's first spaceflight.
- Sergey Teteryatnikov (Roscosmos): A test cosmonaut since 2023, Teteryatnikov will also be embarking on his first mission to the orbiting laboratory.
Media organizations interested in covering the briefings or requesting interviews with the crew must adhere to specific accreditation deadlines, with international media required to respond by July 21 and U.S.-based media by July 30.
