Preah Sihanouk is set to host a week-long festival aimed at elevating the province's profile as a premier travel destination. Running from July 23 to July 30, the event will take place at Techo Terrace (Poy Tamoung) in Sihanoukville City.
Organized by the provincial Department of Tourism with backing from the local administration, the festival operates under the theme “Sports for Tourism, Tourism for All.” The initiative is a key component of Cambodia’s Green Season tourism campaign, designed to stimulate the local economy and attract both domestic and international travelers while coinciding with the Tourism Business Forum.
The schedule features a diverse array of activities, including athletic competitions such as Kun Khmer, beach volleyball, table tennis, and arm wrestling. These sporting events will be complemented by traditional cultural performances and live entertainment throughout the week.
In addition to the entertainment, the festival includes an exhibition showcasing regional food and products. Officials hope this combination of sport, culture, and local cuisine will encourage tourists to extend their stays and explore the province throughout the Green Season.
