These bonuses are fueled by record profits generated from the production of high-bandwidth memory (HBM) chips, which are essential components for Nvidia’s artificial intelligence accelerators. The scale of these payouts significantly exceeds the compensation packages currently offered to Samsung’s workforce, prompting many engineers to prioritize job applications at the competing manufacturer.
