NASA has scheduled a virtual webinar for October 2 at 2 p.m. EDT, titled “The RS-25 Engine and the Future of Artemis Missions: An Accessible Webinar for the Blind and Low-Vision Community.” The two-hour event, hosted via Zoom, is designed to provide an inclusive experience for attendees who are blind or have low vision.
The program features an audio-described presentation of an RS-25 engine test, a panel discussion regarding accessibility within scientific and space sectors, and a question-and-answer session with an Artemis engineer. The panel and presentations will include contributions from several experts, such as NASA visualization scientist Dr. Kimberly Arcand, Stennis Space Center test director Josh Greiner, and consultant Christine Malec, among others from NASA’s Marshall and Johnson space centers.
While the event is open to the general public, interested participants are required to register by September 25. Once registered, attendees will receive event access details via email. Inquiries regarding the webinar may be sent to Thalia Patrinos at NASA.
The Artemis program aims to advance lunar exploration through a series of missions intended to establish a base on the Moon's surface.
