NASA is set to participate in the 77th International Astronautical Congress (IAC), scheduled to take place in Antalya, Türkiye, from October 5 to October 9. Organized by the International Astronautical Federation and hosted by the Turkish Space Agency, the event will serve as a platform for the U.S. space agency to showcase its progress in human exploration, commercial space partnerships, and scientific research.
The NASA delegation will be led by Deputy Administrator Matt Anderson. Throughout the five-day conference, agency representatives are slated to participate in a series of plenary sessions, technical workshops, and media briefings. Key topics on the agenda include the Artemis program, the expansion of the Artemis Accords, and the integration of artificial intelligence in space missions.
Highlights of the week include a discussion on Artemis II mission results, insights into space-based biotechnology and organ-chip research, and a presentation on the role of AI in Martian exploration. Additionally, NASA will host an exhibit in Hall 1 of the NEST Convention Centre, which will feature displays on the agency's history and its ongoing contributions to global space science. The exhibit will also commemorate the U.S. Freedom 250 milestone.
Select events from the congress will be broadcast via the International Astronautical Federation’s YouTube channel. Further details regarding the full schedule and registration information are available through the official IAC platform.
