NASA has announced a news conference featuring the members of the SpaceX Crew-12 mission, scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 2:45 p.m. EDT. The event will allow the crew to discuss their time aboard the International Space Station and their preparations for the journey back to Earth.
The crew includes NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway, ESA astronaut Sophie Adenot, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev. During their mission, the team worked alongside Expedition 74/75 members, conducting a variety of scientific experiments. Their research portfolio included studies on pneumonia-causing bacteria for cardiovascular treatment, the development of on-demand intravenous fluid generation, and investigations into how physical traits influence blood flow in microgravity.
The departure of Crew-12 is slated to occur following the arrival of the Crew-13 mission and a subsequent handover period. Mission controllers will monitor weather conditions at potential splashdown sites off the California coast before authorizing the crew's return.
Media representatives wishing to participate in the upcoming news conference must contact the Johnson Space Center newsroom by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 15. Participants are required to dial in at least 10 minutes before the start of the call to submit questions.
